Does OXY test on animals?
No! Mentholatum’s products are not tested on animals nor do we use animals to demonstrate compliance with regulatory requirements (such as safety, efficacy or quality) during the stages of the product's development. It is our company policy to use published literature and/or humans to support research and development projects and we stick by this!
The OXY range includes medicines and cosmetics – the legal status as defined in law. For the medicines, which contain established ingredients, there is no scientific or ethical reason for conducting future experiments on any living beings other than humans. In 2008, the EU Cosmetics Directive – where the OXY range was developed - outlawed the testing of cosmetic products on animals.
The ingredients in all OXY formulations are either derived from plants or synthetically manufactured and none have been derived from animals!
